Sony is making a 4K PlayStation 4

Sony is making a 4K PlayStation 4

Sony is working on a new model of the PlayStation 4 that's able to output 4K graphics for games.Reports hearing about the PlayStation 4 upgrade from various developers, who Sony has briefed on the ideas. It's not mentioned when the up-graded PlayStation will be prepared or how it would be marketed, but the effects is that Sony could, possibly in the following year or so, start selling a 4K-suitable PlayStation with the current PS4.

"Mid-pattern gaming console up levels could become the regular"

A 4K PlayStation would need more powerful graphics features than the present PS4 has.The upgraded model, which developers seem to be informally recommending o as PS4.5, involves both an up-graded processor and GPU. Both would be important to output PS4 games at 4K resolution, which needs much more electricity than it takes to push a game out at 1080p. (The present PS4 supports 4K photos and videos, but not games.)

However updating a gaming console mid-pattern is an unusual(but not completely unheard of) move, it would make a lot of sense in this case. TV places are presently shifting to 4K — more inexpensive4 K sets are starting to make their way on the market, and we're not too many years away from most new designs getting 4K. Moreover, gaming console designers may be moving away from the idea of nearly decade-long hardware periods. Microsoft has already advised that the Xbox One could get hardware updates, so it's not awfully amazing to hear that Sony is taking the same method.

Mortal Kombat X Runs at 1080p and 60 FPS

Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon talks up the engine that the newest game in the series runs on.

The recently announced Mortal Kombat X will run at 1080p and 60 frames per second, according to series creator Ed Boon.

Asked on Twitter about what engine the newest game in the Mortal Kombat series uses, Boon explained it's a version of Unreal Engine 3 that developer NeatherRealm Studios has customized. He added, "60fps 1080p!"

These are the vaunted numbers many gamers hope to see all console games running at these days. Much has been made about the PlayStation 4 versions of certain games running at higher resolutions than their Xbox One counterparts, although that may become a less frequent occurrence with the recent boost to the Xbox One's GPU power.

After a lengthy countdown by Boon on Twitter, Mortal Kombat X--pronounced "Mortal Kombat Ex"--wasannounced earlier this month for the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Alongside the game's announcement, NetherRealm released the teaser trailer above featuring Sub-Zero and Scorpion, which we've broken down in detail.

We'll be finding out more about Mortal Kombat X at E3 this week, including the identity of at least two new characters and some story details. A gameplay trailer may also make an appearance at some point during E3. Stay tuned to GameSpot for all the latest.

Battlefield Hardline launch date & Revealed in Leaked first trailer

With under a week to go just before its E3 announcement, and after a very few leaks (including this trailer sooner today), EA has officially launched the first trailer for Battlefield Hardline. Preferably of Battlefield's usual war theme, Hardline is about "the battle in between cops and criminals," and Dead Space developer Visceral Games is on the work. With respect to the trailer, it will be out Oct 21st.

Hardline isn't Visceral's first experience with DICE's Battlefield sequence: it also produced Battlefield 3's End Game DLC. It is still a departure for a developer known for Dead Space, The Godfather, and James Bond games. One more shocking departure: the 1st trailer is not about an army of foghorns fighting a broken PA system. It's a Hollywood-style crime montage set to Jamie N Commons an X Ambassadors' "Jungle."

We will have much more details about Hardline after the big expose at EA's press conference on Monday. Though at the rate Hardline has been leaking, perhaps EA will just throw its hands up and launch the game four months early.

Mortal Kombat X Revealing New Fighters at E3

Mortal Kombat X is set to reveal at least part of its roster at E3, including two brand new fighters.

The news comes showing courtesy of series creator Ed Boon on Twitter, who responded in a fan asking if we would see any new participants in the upcoming game to say "Yes! Two of my new favourites features will be at E3!"

Boon also promised we would get an idea of the title's plot of land, which is obviously both a extension of the story begun in MK9 and also being completely original, and will finally see some gameplay at E3.

The upcoming fighter, which was released earlier this week, is due out sometime next year on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Recently we got a chance to appear at the box art featuring Scorpion, therefore you guys also told us which fighters you would like to see return.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 7.0 leaks with faux leather backing, huge 7-inch display

If you ever idea last year’s Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3 were blurring the lines between phone and tablet, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Mega 7.0 is looking to sh*t all over that. Leaked online for China Mobile thanks to a 3rd party case manufacturer, this Samsung Galaxy Mega followup (SM-T2558 and SM-T2556) is said to feature a whopping 7-inch 720p display, the one that is sure to force the limits of your new skinny jeans.

Bear in mind the Mega has never been a power house. It’s generally an easy method for Samsung to tackle the affordable phablet market, one that is currently left wide open by smartphone OEMs. Other specs for the Mega 7.0 include a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. You can see from the leaked image above that Samsung will once again follow the "faux leather" design language made popular by their Note line.

No word on US availability or pricing, but knowing Samsung — they will have a Mega for every market. We will keep an eye out.

10 Social Media Tips for Bloggers

1. Display your social media icons prominently toward the top of your website.
Make it as simple as possible for your blog visitors to connect with you on various social media platforms. They shouldn’t have to hunt around to find your Twitter handle, but should be able to click on a button and be taken right to your profile. Bonus points if your social media icons reflect the overall design or feel of your blog.

2. Every blog should have its own Facebook Page.
Even with Facebook’s new subscription feature, there’s still merit to giving your blog its own space on Facebook. It’s nice to be able to post a link every time you publish something new, and not have to worry about annoying your friends. Plus, readers who don’t your name but know the name of your blog can search for it on Facebook. Show your fans some love on your blog by using the Facebook social plugin, which makes it easy to convert readers to fans.

3. Generate traffic with StumbleUpon.
This "recommendation engine" serves as an alternate browser where users click through pages that their SU friends and SU itself have recommended. You can submit your own blog posts into the system, but it works best if you also share them with your SU friends and accept their shares back. Like most social platforms, you need to have a strong following to get good results. While people are still trying to figure out what makes SU content go viral, many bloggers have seen terrific, albeit fleeting, traffic spikes through the service.

4. Import your RSS feed onto your LinkedIn profile using its Blog Link application.
For as long as your blog somewhat pertains to your professional goals, you should be showcasing it on LinkedIn. List it as one of your three websites in your profile, where it will be labeled "Blog." However, by using the Blog Link application, your most recent posts will display right on your profile.

 5. Pinterest is the hot new frontier for bloggers.
Pinterest is the cool new kid, and all of the bloggers are scrambling to establish a presence there. Pin your best photos onto themed boards with links to a related blog post. Blogs with powerful visual content, like fashion, food, design, crafts and travel, are a natural fit. Infographics will also do quite well. Don’t forget to add a Pinterest plugin (like the Pinterest "Pin It" Button for WordPress users) to make it easy for your readers to share your content on their Pinterest boards.

6. Use link shorteners even when you don’t need to.
Twitter will now shorten your link for you, and the length of your link doesn’t matter on Facebook and Google+. But by using a link shortener like bit.ly, you will gain access to metrics, so you will know how many people clicked and at what time. With this important data, you can experiment with different ways to tease your content and different times to post it.

7. Use your blog name as your username whenever possible.
Promote your own personal brand by consistently using your blog’s name for your Twitter handle, StumbleUpon name, Pinterest name and so on. Then, people don’t need to wonder about your blog’s name — it’s right there. Also, people will remember you easily across platforms, which is key as you develop up your online community.

8. Join blogger groups on Facebook.
There are some very active groups on Facebook which are terrific resources for the blogging issues you encounter. Look for groups like "Travel Bloggers" or "Global Bloggers Network." WordPress geeks have "Advanced WordPress" and Central Florida residents have "Central Florida Bloggers." But not only are blogger groups good for problem-solving, but it’s well-known that bloggers like to read other blogs. Do some searching and find a bloggers group that’s suited to you, or start your own!

9. Be generous with other bloggers.
Promote other bloggers' content, and hopefully they’ll return the favor. You can’t simply blast your own content anyway — you need some variety in every social media stream. So why not check out what your fellow bloggers are posting and provides them a retweet, a share or a repin whenever you can. And don’t forget about to reciprocate and share content from bloggers who share yours.

10. Be on social media — even when it's not generating traffic.
It could be frustrating if you feel that you’re doing everything right (posting good content on the suitable platforms in the best way possible) and you’re still not getting many clicks. But console yourself by believing about all of the links that you see throughout the day that you don’t click on. Just investing time on social media platforms is great way to build relationships, keep up on industry news and find motivation for that next blog post.

Did Google just leak its next-generation Nexus tablet?

Either Google’s art department purposely manipulated a image in the company’s latest Nexus 10 tablet, or Google just quietly revealed its next-generation 100 % pure Android slate.

As noted by a number of Android fan blogs on Monday, Google has updated its I/O conference website with a peculiar new image. In the photo, someone is tapping on a tablet that doesn’t quite look like anything we’ve seen to date.

The shape of the tablet and the placement of some buttons in fact looks like the Nexus 10 tablet, as some blogs have observed, but the device appears to be a bit smaller than the 10-inch Nexus and the bezels on the sides of the tablet are nowhere near as wide as they are on the Nexus 10.

Did Google’s art department intentionally manipulate a photo of the Nexus 10 so that it looks like a different device? Is this the Nexus 8 that Google is rumored by some to be planning to reveal at Google I/O on June 25th?

No person knows for certain right now, but we only have a few short weeks left until we find out.

Split-screen multitasking comes to the Apple iPad in iOS 8?

When a new jail break "tweak" called OS Experience is allowing for Apple iPad users have fun with split-screen multitasking, new rumours has Apple adding the feature to iOS 8. Currently, users of Apple's iOS flavored slate could only view one application at the time, using the entire real estate available on the screen. If the rumor pans out, those with an iPad will be able to split the screen to use multiple applications at the similar time.

This is not the latest feature by any stretch of the creative imagination, as some Samsung tablets, and the Microsoft Surface already offer this type of multitasking. The fact that the iPad lacks multitasking, was highlighted by Microsoft in some of its television commercials that compared Apple's tablet to the Surface. If you are wondering how this split-screen multitaking might work, check out the idea video, which is part of the video slideshow below.

According to the rumor, the split-screen feature could be available on full-sized, 9.7 inch iPads, and would work only in landscape orientation. Other new features expected for iOS 8 include the Healthbook application, which would give you a place to store all of the medical information and readings obtained by an Apple iWatch or other iOS devices. Also a possibility on the next iOS build, is a public transit feature for Apple Maps. But don't get too excited. There is talk that these new capabilities for iOS might have to be scrubbed until iOS 8.1.
