Sony is making a 4K PlayStation 4

Sony is making a 4K PlayStation 4

Sony is working on a new model of the PlayStation 4 that's able to output 4K graphics for games.Reports hearing about the PlayStation 4 upgrade from various developers, who Sony has briefed on the ideas. It's not mentioned when the up-graded PlayStation will be prepared or how it would be marketed, but the effects is that Sony could, possibly in the following year or so, start selling a 4K-suitable PlayStation with the current PS4.

"Mid-pattern gaming console up levels could become the regular"

A 4K PlayStation would need more powerful graphics features than the present PS4 has.The upgraded model, which developers seem to be informally recommending o as PS4.5, involves both an up-graded processor and GPU. Both would be important to output PS4 games at 4K resolution, which needs much more electricity than it takes to push a game out at 1080p. (The present PS4 supports 4K photos and videos, but not games.)

However updating a gaming console mid-pattern is an unusual(but not completely unheard of) move, it would make a lot of sense in this case. TV places are presently shifting to 4K — more inexpensive4 K sets are starting to make their way on the market, and we're not too many years away from most new designs getting 4K. Moreover, gaming console designers may be moving away from the idea of nearly decade-long hardware periods. Microsoft has already advised that the Xbox One could get hardware updates, so it's not awfully amazing to hear that Sony is taking the same method.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 7.0 leaks with faux leather backing, huge 7-inch display

If you ever idea last year’s Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3 were blurring the lines between phone and tablet, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Mega 7.0 is looking to sh*t all over that. Leaked online for China Mobile thanks to a 3rd party case manufacturer, this Samsung Galaxy Mega followup (SM-T2558 and SM-T2556) is said to feature a whopping 7-inch 720p display, the one that is sure to force the limits of your new skinny jeans.

Bear in mind the Mega has never been a power house. It’s generally an easy method for Samsung to tackle the affordable phablet market, one that is currently left wide open by smartphone OEMs. Other specs for the Mega 7.0 include a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. You can see from the leaked image above that Samsung will once again follow the "faux leather" design language made popular by their Note line.

No word on US availability or pricing, but knowing Samsung — they will have a Mega for every market. We will keep an eye out.

How WhatsApp Got To Be Worth $19 Billion?

WhatsApp, the super-popular messaging app, has once again come under the spotlight, and became a sensation all over again as Facebook moves to bid $19 Billion for its acquisition. The deal is all but done, making it Facebook's biggest ever purchase, and the second-biggest tech-acquisition of all time. So what is it that makes WhatsApp so special? Let's take a look at the story behind WhatsApp, which is one of the most incredible and

motivational success stories of this age.
According to sources, Facebook has agreed to pay $4 Billion in cash, and $12 Billion in Stock. In addition, a sum of $3 Billion is to be paid to the WhatsApp CEO and staff. The deal is set to be finalized later this year, failing which Facebook will have to pay $1 Billion as recompense.

The story behind WhatsApp

The story of WhatsApp is one of hard work and dedication, of taking risks and entrepreneurship. Jan Koum, the founder of WhatsApp - and soon to be a billionaire - is yet another example of college dropout successes.

Born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine, Koum lived a simple, ordinary life. His father was a construction manager, and the family somehow managed to eke out a living from a meager income. At age 16, he along with his mother migrated to Mountain View due to the troubled political and anti-Semitic environment back home. The father couldn't make it over.

They got a small apartment through government assistance. To make ends meet, his mother took up babysitting, and Koum started sweeping the floor of a grocery store.

Meanwhile, Koum keep at educating himself - while still at school - and learned computer networking from the books he used to borrow. His prowess led him to the San Jose State University, and to Ernst & Young as a security tester. Soon, he interviewed at Yahoo and got a job as an infrastructure engineer while still at San Jose, which he dropped out of two weeks later. It was during his time at Yahoo that he met and befriended Brian Actor, WhatsApp co-founder.

Both left Yahoo in 2007, and applied for a job at Facebook. They were rejected.

Koum bought an iPhone in 2009, and instantly realized that the seven-month old App Store was about to spawn a whole new industry of apps. Hence, the idea of WhatsApp was born. At this point, both Acton and Koum were jobless. So Koum had to spend what money he had saved from his work at Yahoo on building and running his simple app, which has now become the most popular messaging app in the world.

The competition

If you look over closely at some of the competitors, you will see that none of them were valued even half as much. Facebook offered to buy Snapchat last month for $3 Billion, which was rejected. The popular IM and Voice calling service Skype was purchased by Microsoft for $7.5 Billion. However, most surprising of all, WhatsApp's closest competitor, Viber was recently sold for a meager $900 Million to a Japanese company.

Guess the previous Viber owners have something to think about now.

Microsoft reportedly planning Windows 9 launch in April 2015

Microsoft is currently working on an "Update 1" for Windows 8.1, but the company has bigger plans for the future of Windows as part of a "Threshold" wave of updates. Windows watcher Paul Thurrott reports that the company’s Threshold plans will involve a release of Windows 9 around April 2015. Microsoft will allegedly unveil its vision for Windows 9 at the company’s Build 2014 developer conference in April, with a release planned for a year later

It appears that Microsoft is presently planning to use the Windows 9 branding and vision as a way to move away from some of the criticisms of the Windows 8 operating system. It’s not immediately clear what type of changes will be made to Windows 9, but "Metro 2.0" inside the new OS will evidently include a major focus on improving Microsoft’s new app world and tiles. Previous rumors have suggested Microsoft is planning to separate out its Windows 8-style "Metro" apps to allow them to float and run in separate windows on the traditional desktop. The Verge understands Microsoft is also planning a Start menu return for Windows 9, but that the company may deliver this early in a second "Update 2" for Windows 8.1 later this year.

Build 2014 will set the vision for Windows 9

Microsoft we will evidently use three major milestone development things for Windows 9, but it is just not crystal clear how many of them will be launched to the community during the development period of time. The software creator is currently in the ultimate planning stages for Windows 9 and work is anticipated to begin after the Build 2014 developer conference in April. It sounds like Microsoft will use Build 2014 as a launch point for its vision of Windows 9, detailing some of the planned changes in an attempt to develop excitement around the company’s future ideas.

Windows certainly needs excitement, Windows 8-style apps, and innovation if Microsoft is to succeed with its vision of a hybrid tablet and desktop operating system. If Microsoft manages to pull off a Windows 9 release with significant improvements over Windows 8 then that may relegate Windows 8 to a Vista-like launch in the minds of consumers. The company clearly isn’t confident with any continued use of the Windows 8 brand in the same way that Apple does with its OS X point releases. While there will be further tweaks to Windows 8.1 shortly, Windows 9 looks to be the next major launch.
